Recent UK research and the subsequent report, sets out for the first time the evidence that underpins what we all know intuitively, which is that only organisations that truly engage and inspire their employees produce world class levels of innovation, productivity and performance.
The lessons that flow from that evidence can and should shape the way leaders and managers in both the private and public sectors think about the people who work for them. They should also shape the way employees approach their jobs and careers.
A recession might seem an unusual time for such reflection - in fact, the opposite is the case. Because Britain’s economic recovery and its competitive strengths in a global economy will be built on strong, innovative companies and confident employees, there has never been a more important time to think about employee engagement in Britain.
Informed by that report and sponsored by The Champions Club, John Meredith and Steve Smith of The Learning Center, a UK Partner of FranklinCovey, have designed a workshop that will enable participants to:
- Explore the most recent research
- Understand the need for employment engagement
- Identify the barriers
- Discover the enablers and key areas of engagement
- Know where to focus and how to build a culture of true engagement
The message is clear: engagement across the economy need to be higher to meet present and future challenges. This workshop will give leaders at all levels of your organisation the mindsets, skills and tools to help create a workplace where all employees can bring their unique talents, skills and passions to the table.
The evidence is beyond doubt: when engaged, people feel respected, involved, heard, well led and valued by those they work for and with. They have a personal attachment to their work and organisation; they are motivated and able to give of their best to help it succeed.
The bottom line is simple - improving engagement correlates with improving performance - employee engagement matters!
We can also run this workshop ‘in house’ for you if several members of staff would benefit from this training, and you can email us directly if this would be of interest.
