Lessons From Geese

Do you believe it is possible that we could learn profound lessons about personal leadership, teamwork and the achievement of our goals simply by observing a flock of geese?

Well consider this:

  • As each goose flaps its wings it creates an uplift for the birds that follow.
  • By flying in a ‘ V ‘ formation the whole flock adds 71 percent extra to the flying range.
  • When a goose falls out of formation it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back to take advantage of the lifting power of the birds in front.”

So what does this teach us?

Simply that if we had as much sense as geese we would stay in formation with those headed where we want to go in life. It also teaches us that when we have a sense of community and focus, we create trust, and can help each other to achieve our goals.

To see these and other beautifully illustrated lessons in a short but powerfully inspiring 3 minute video, then simply click on the clip below.

I hope the metaphor of the flying geese will inspire and help you to achieve your goals in life – if you enjoyed this clip, why not pass it on to colleagues and friends with our compliments!
